Rockingham Property Management is Hiring an Apartment Maintenance Technician Near Hartford, CT

We are a local property management company looking for someone to perform service calls and turnover related actions at select properties. The multi-family properties are situated in the Hartford metro area. We anticipate 15 hours per week; the hours can be somewhat flexible, although a routine is preferred.

The type of work will vary by the week. Below are some examples (but not limited to):

  • Perform light plumbing repairs (toilet / sink install, faucet repair)
  • Sheetrock / wall repair
  • Light electrical repair (install light fixtures)
  • Perform apartment turnovers - following a checklist to ensure the apartment is rent ready
  • Meeting inspectors, contractors
  • Installing and checking status of smoke detectors and CO2 detectors
  • Checking up on properties
  • Responding to maintenance requests to address issues identified by the tenant and/or property manager.
  • Troubleshooting the problem, as needed, and identify the solution
  • Identify potential building maintenance needed and correct the issue

Requirements:

  • MUST have prior maintenance experience / apartment turnover experience. You must already know how to perform service calls / handyman related work - we are not expected to train you.
  • MUST have own transportation [do not respond to ad if you do not have a vehicle.]. However, there is an opportunity to utilize a company truck for certain jobs.
  • MUST be able to go to the store (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) to purchase necessary items to address the issue (all legitimate expenses are reimbursed, or a company card will be provided) [do not respond to ad if you cannot identify correct part, plan for parts, shop and purchase needed items]
  • MUST be reliable and show up to work
  • MUST be independent and can address problems independently
  • Preferably has their own tools
  • Able to take before & after photos
  • Responsive to phone calls, emails, text, etc.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Spanish speaking a plus

We are looking for an individual who is responsible, independent and can complete work in a timely manner.

Bonus pay for work items completed ahead of schedule.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $23.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
