- Must be able to work independently and self-motivated.
- Must have a valid New York State Driver’s license.
- Experience in landscaping and grounds keeping.
- Maintains lawns, grounds, shrubs, trees and flower beds.
- Pressure washing and cleaning of garages, windows, and sidings.
- Mowing, trimming, weeding, and other outdoor tasks.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment
- Appropriate attire as required by departmental dress code.
- Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personal.
- May be asked to work beyond normal working hours.
- Works predominantly outdoors in the sun and heat.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Must be a self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to cope with the physical stress of this position.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff and support agencies.
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, angry people within the facility.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
