Role Summary: As the leader of the Materials Prep Team, you are first responsible for the effective leadership and safety of your team. You will become the subject matter expert on Stainless Steel handling and surface finishing and can capably train others to master those skills. You fluctuate between doing surface finishing tasks and managing your team’s day-to-day activities, coordinating closely with the Production Team Supervisor.

Objectives:

• Effectively direct the day-to-day activities of your team to ensure on-time, high quality task completion
• Evaluate procedures, look for opportunities for improvement, and implement improvements as needed.
• Create an effective training program for new team members and train them on the proper use of all surface finishing equipment and procedures.
• Develop team members and foster a positive work environment.
• Become an expert on all surface finishing tools and equipment. These include but are not limited to Wide-Belt Sander, pneumatic polishers, passivating tools, and more.
• Utilize surface finishing tools to polish stainless steel components & weldments per specifications.
• Perform maintenance on surface finishing tools and equipment.
• Read and interpret fabrication prints as provided by engineering.
• Utilize material handling equipment to move components and stainless-steel (forklift training provided).
• Receive, inspect, and check-in product components, including but not limited to stainless steel.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned from time to time by your supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Software:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
• Familiarity with an Enterprise Resource Planning software (Epicor Kinetic preferred)

Experience:

• 3 years of work experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor in a manufacturing environment
• Machine operation experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to engage in the following physical activities: bend/stoop, climb stairs/ladders, squat, kneel, push/pull, lift up to 50 lbs, and use vibratory and other basic tools.
• Expected to work the standard workday of 8 hours.
• Expected to work overtime upon supervisor request.
