Plasan North America is Hiring a Quality Layout Technician - 2nd Shift Near Walker, MI
2nd shift schedule is 3pm - 1am, Monday through Thursday.
ACCOUNTABILITIES (Process Ownership-Ties to Goals and Objectives)
On Time completion of First Article and/or PPAP Dimensional Analysis to the Customer and company milestones.
Maintain Incoming Quality Inspection requirements daily to prevent production downtime.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Required Tasks)
Operate Faro ScanArm and work with Polyworks
Review GD&T requirements on all new parts and existing parts undergoing engineering changes
Verify the design of all component and assembly inspection fixtures. Part of approval process
Performs all dimensional layouts and capability studies for all FAI/Production Part Approval Process submissions
Calibration at required frequencies of inspection fixtures, once fixtures (attribute/variable) are approved, and recertification utilizing the FARO ScanArm
Perform Incoming Quality Inspection (IQA) for components requiring dimension verification
SKILL SET (Required Skills)
Minimum of 3-5 years of Faro Arm/CMM work experience
Familiar with Model-Based GD&T Inspection technology
Familiar with PC-DMIS software
Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, models, specifications and standards
Knows how to interpret cosmetic and workmanship standards when conducting visual inspection
Understanding of AQL sampling plans (Z 1.4 or other)
Must be able to perform complex surface plate setups
Must be able to perform component inspection using basic TMDE (Digital Calipers, Micrometers, etc.)
Well-developed oral and written communication skills to include a high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization
Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, some knowledge of quality software
