Patriot Fire Protection's Alarm Technicians are responsible for INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE, AND REPAIR. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our customers and their property in the event of a fire or other emergencies. Our Fire Protection Alarm Technician must have a deep understanding of fire safety regulations and be capable of working on various alarm system.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation:
-Install and configure fire alarm systems, including control panels, detectors, alarms, and other related equipment.
-Ensure that all installations comply with local, state, and national fire codes and regulations.
Maintenance and Repairs:
-Perform preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems.
-Identify and troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary repairs or replacements promptly.
-Document all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and work completed.
Testing and Verification:
-Test various fire alarm systems to ensure proper functioning.
-Verify system performance and sensitivity according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Documentation:
-Maintain accurate records of all installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
-Complete service reports and documentation in a timely and organized manner.
Client Communication:
-Communicate with clients to explain the status of systems, provide recommendations for improvements, and answer any questions or concerns.
-Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional and courteous interactions.
Training:
-Stay current with advancements in fire protection technology and industry best practices.
-Provide training and guidance to clients and other team members as needed.
Emergency Response:
-Respond to emergency service calls to address system malfunctions or alarms promptly.
-Collaborate with emergency services personnel as necessary.
Compliance:
-Maintain compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
-Keep abreast of changes in fire safety codes and regulations and adjust practices accordingly.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent. A relevant technical degree or certification is a plus.
-Proven experience as a Fire Protection Alarm Technician or similar role.
-Knowledge of various fire alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
-Familiarity with local and national fire codes and regulations.
-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-Excellent communication and customer service skills.
-Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
-Willingness to work in varying conditions, including confined spaces and at heights.
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
-Physical dexterity for working with intricate wiring and components.
-Capability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
