PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE PCC Preschool is a ministry of Peninsula Covenant Church. We are a play-based program committed to the development of the whole child. Our staff is committed to excellence, preparing quality and safe learning environments for children, engaging in fruitful learning experiences, and are proactive about being creative in planning and administering lessons, and fulfilling their responsibilities. Teachers have a desire to support and minister to families in our program. Principal Working Relationships The Preschool Teaching Assistant reports directly to the Preschool Director. The Preschool Teaching Assistant supports the Preschool Teachers in creating a conducive learning environment and assisting in the implementation of educational activities. They play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the children while fostering their growth and development. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Preschool Teacher in implementing age-appropriate activities to support children's holistic development.
Support classroom setup, including preparing materials and organizing learning spaces.
Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
Collaborate with the Preschool Teachers in assessing children's progress and providing feedback.
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, fostering positive relationships and addressing concerns as needed.
Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Preschool Teachers or Preschool Director.

Able to communicate verbally, written and via computer.
Must enjoy working with children, educators and parents.
Needs to have a sincere desire to share Gods love and Jesus gift with children and staff.
Proven ability to communicate with a variety of audiences professionally and effectively, as well as use/learn software and computer programs for successful operations of PCC Preschool (Examples: Child Care software, Sign-Up genius, Typeform, etc.).
Training Required and Additional Resources
Current certification of 8-hour Child Care specific CPR & First-Aid course. Recertification is completed regularly as best practice suggests.
Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification is a plus
Fingerprinting and TB testing as required.
Education/Licensing Requirements
Experience in a setting working with young children, 2-3 years preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least 3-6 ECE Units are preferred.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at a time
Must be able to sit and stand on the floor and the outside playground area throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the schools and facilities as needed.
Workweek
This job is seasonal Full-time, with an average of 40 hours per week.
