What our work looks like

Noralta Technologies continuously pursues opportunities to grow our client base. We are seeking a Control Room Operator who would be tasked with the following additional duties / responsibilities in support of both expanding and assisting Noralta’s US based customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Continual communication with our technical staff and clients located in the field, providing major facility and single well monitoring for the client sites that Noralta monitors.
  • Out-bound calls to all clients – notification of issues, trouble shooting on service, etc. (can involve after-hours call outs).
  • Analyzing video surveillance cameras for problems on sites
  • Alarm Management, response to and providing solutions to the client.
  • Technical help and troubleshooting using a calm, multi-tasking approach.
  • Focus on improving techniques and efficiencies with implementation of technology.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral) in English, this skill is a must have.
  • Diploma from a Technical Institution, preferably in a Petroleum-related field allowing an understanding of the technology and sites being monitored.
  • 3-5 years of upstream oil and gas field operations experience
  • Previous oilfield operating experience as well as SCADA experience would be considered assets.
  • Computer hardware/software competency, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Network, programming, database administration, and another technological knowledge would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Reliable, positive, and self-motivated, displaying strong customer service aptitude.

Additional details

  • This is an intermediate to senior level position with a starting wage commensurate with experience.
  • Health insurance stipend in lieu of health insurance plan.
  • This position follows a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, 12 hours per day and night shift after a flex shift training period.
  • This position is in The Woodlands, TX. Applicants will be responsible for their own transportation to the Control Center.

The position of Control Center Operator is a safety sensitive position. For your safety and the safety of everyone around you, the following will be required:

  • Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Criminal Background Check
