Position Summary

Under the direction of the Excavating Manager, the Dump Truck Operator/Laborer operates a dump truck and other equipment to support the company operations and to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and animals.

Essential Position Duties

• Haul various materials utilizing a quad axle dump truck
• Assist with renovation/building projects
• Install drain tile, water lines, drain pipes, etc.
• Grade, level and load various types of materials
• Assist with spring clean-up: sweeping lawns with skid steer
• Landscaping: filling holes, grading, planting grass
• Field tile repair
• Site preparation
• Concrete removal
• Safely operate and maintain equipment such as skid steer, tractors (various size), dump truck, backhoe, excavator, and other miscellaneous equipment.
• Maintain current logs, preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files in order to comply with local, state and federal regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards

• Strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to work both collaboratively with a team and independently to achieve project goals
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively across diverse groups
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to safely operate various pieces of equipment
• Mechanical aptitude with familiarity with hand tools, tape measures and levels, etc.

Education

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Valid drivers license required

· CDL

· Fed Med Card

Experience

· 2 years equipment operating experience

Essential Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs., 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally
• Frequently sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Frequently push, pull, bend, and reach
• Ability to stand for duration of work shift

(Occasionally: 1-25% of the time; frequently: 26-75% of the time; constantly: 76-100% of the time)

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
