This position is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Position Summary
The Radiological Controls Health Physicist Training Specialist is responsible for the creation and implementation [KC1] of Radiological Control Technician (RCT) on-the-job trainings/evaluations (OJT/OJE) and continuing training programs for RCTs and staff as applicable within the radiation protection workforce. Training materials should include health physics topics as related to DOE RCT qualification training, company mission, and regulatory requirements set forth in 10CFR835, Occupational radiation Protection and DOE O 458.1, Radiation Protection of the Public and the Environment. This position is also responsible for generating training reports and help ensure employees are aware of upcoming training courses.
This position reports to the Director of Technical Training.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelors’ degree combined with a minimum of 10 years of relative experience. However, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.
Education Equivalency: 2 years of relevant experience for 1 year of college.
Must be able to acquire and maintain certification through the DOE National Training Center, Basic Instructor Training

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Normally assigned to perform work in an office environment. Only electrical hazards and other minor potential hazards normally found in an office environment are anticipated. While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, the Technical Training Specialist will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner to include protecting the confidentiality and integrity of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This role will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security. Ability to obtain a Q level Department of Energy security clearance.
