Nutley Family Service Bureau is Hiring a Program Director of Mental Health Outpatient Near Nutley, NJ

Organization Description: A comprehensive health and human service agency dedicated to strengthening the emotional and social well-being of individuals and families through accessible, affordable mental health counseling and social service programs.

Position Overview: The Program Director of NFSB’s Mental Health Outpatient program located at 169 Chestnut Street is responsible for the successful oversight of the mental health program. This position assures the integration of the mission, values, and treatment philosophy of the agency into daily operations with particular emphasis on staffing, client care, compliance, and financial management.

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: 169 Chestnut Street, Nutley NJ

Hours: 40 hours/week Exempt Monday – Friday. Some Evenings.

Major Duties:

  • Provides oversight of the program staff to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Oversees and manages clinical treatment including documentation, compliance and operational flow of clinical services. This includes oversight of intake operations, service planning and termination process as well as appropriate coordination of care with internal and external programs. Ensures that clinical services are provided as specified in the patient treatment plan, and coordinated with other patient care services, if applicable, to provide continuity of care.
  • Assures the integration of the mission, values, and treatment philosophy of the agency into daily operations.
  • Ensure agency compliance with all Federal, State, County, City regulations, program requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Assists with any accreditation process and does what is required.
  • Leads Outpatient quality assurance measures. Participates in the identification of quality care indicators and outcome objectives and the collection and review of data to monitor clinical staff and program performance.
  • Participates on Org PQI Team, Risk Management Team and Client Advisory Board.
  • Ensures operationalizing clinical policies & procedures to meet regulatory standards.
  • Ability to write and assist with developing new policy and procedure when needed.
  • Ability to assist with curriculum creation and implementation.
  • Ensures that the behavioral and pharmacologic approaches to treatment are evidence based or based on objective information to provide treatment services consistent with recognized treatment principles and practices for each client served by the program.
  • Ensure clinical staff complete necessary paperwork, adhere to established supervision requirements for staff and documents needed, information for recordkeeping. As applicable, ensures that the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients is provided by appropriately trained and qualified clinical staff, and that the clinical supervision of such staff is provided.
  • Directly supervises clinical staff and interns.
  • Provides clinical orientation training to new clinical staff.
  • Carries a small clinical caseload.
  • Responsible for planning and budgeting for the provision of mental health counseling services.
  • Participates in Billing Team meetings and assists Executive Director and Office Supervisor in conducting utilization review with the Billing Department to coordinate clinical and billing issues.
  • Assists the Executive Director with community outreach and new client acquisition.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • LCSW required. LCADC a plus.
  • Clinical Supervisor Certification required. SIFI certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-licensure management and clinical supervisory experience in the mental health field.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the mental health and addictions field.
  • Experience with budgeting and billing required.
  • Understanding of the organization’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances.
  • Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially using agency electronic health records, Outlook, Word, Excel and customized databases.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the cultures represented by the organization.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to relate well with people from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural groups.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
  • Spanish speaker Preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
