Job Description
Mississippi Federal Credit Union is looking for qualified and talented individuals to join the Financial Specialist (Teller Operations) team. The ideal candidate for this position is motivated, agile, service focused, thrives in a dynamic team environment, an effective listener and communicator, detail oriented, and able to trouble shoot effectively. The Financial Specialist (Teller Operations) is responsible for assisting new and existing members, on the phone or face-to-face, with transactions and inquiries regarding products and services. The Financial Specialist (Teller Operations) listens effectively to the member, performs transactions accurately, answers questions regarding MSFCU products and services, and cross sells products and services that will help the member reach their financial goals. The Financial Specialist (Teller Operations) works in a team environment and assists their co-workers and Management as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
  1. Follow MSFCU policies and procedures at all times
  2. Follow objectives to achieve or exceed company and department goals
  3. Work closely with team members to succeed as a group
  4. Solve problems quickly and accurately
  5. Handle cash and checks within set limits and places holds where needed
  6. Balance cash drawer at end of business day and researches and resolves discrepancies
  7. Perform drive-up functions, night drop, and ATM duties as assigned
  8. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all actions taken as required by law, regulation, and company policies and procedures
  9. Represent MSFCU in a professional manner in all interactions with MSFCU members
  10. Maintain confidentiality of member, employee, and company information
  11. Greet and welcomes members to the credit union in a professional manner
  12. Provide prompt, excellent service, and accurate transactions
  13. Promote, explains, and cross-sells MSFCU products and services
  14. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on all credit union products and services
  15. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of, and adheres to, the requirements of all related policies, procedures, rules and regulations required for position
  16. Model a high level of service and a professional demeanor and appearance
  17. Participate in MSFCU sponsored community outreach events
  18. May have opening and closing responsibilities
  19. Responsible for regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
  20. Establish and maintain professional business relations with all MSFCU employees
  21. Assume responsibility for ensuring that professional business relations are established and maintained with MSFCU members
  22. Utilize effective and professional communication to present a positive image in all situations
  23. Attend and participate in meetings and training as required
  24. Keep management informed of activities, progress attained toward established objectives, and of any significant problems
  25. Assist area personnel as needed
  26. Stay informed of changes in policies, procedures, and related legal and regulatory requirements
  27. Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
  28. Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
Experience and Skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High School diploma, or equivalent
  2. Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages)
  3. High level of service and communication skills
  4. Professional appearance, dress and attitude
  5. Ability to use related computer software, Microsoft Office products, and business equipment, including computers, copy machine, coin and money counting machines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience working for a financial institution, preferably a credit union
  2. Bachelor's degree in a business related field
KNOWLEGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  1. Excellent relationship building, verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills
  2. Detail oriented and good organizational skills
  3. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages), and interpret and analyze financial data.

  5. Ability to present a positive and professional image to all employees and members
  6. Problem-solving skills
  7. Flexible with shift priorities
  8. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment
