Mil Mujeres Legal Services – Los Angeles

Mil Mujeres Legal Services, a Non-Profit organization is looking for a full-time on-site City Representative in Los Angeles.

About the Organization:

Mil Mujeres Legal Services is a nonprofit organization focusing on immigration benefits for survivors of violent crimes and their families. We offer immigration legal services to the low-income Latino community who have been victims of violent crimes within the United States. Our primary focus is gender-based crime survivors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organize and facilitate the participation of Mil Mujeres at local events, fairs, and community activities.
  • Work collaboratively with local agencies, consulates, and organizations to provide “Know Your Rights” presentations and outreach services.
  • Attend weekly consulates, conduct “Know Your Rights” presentations, surveys, and intakes, and assist the community.
  • Conduct intakes and meetings, answer phone calls, and support clients appointments at the office;
  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.;
  • Handle, open, and distribute regular and electronic incoming and outgoing mail and other materials and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments or organizations;
  • Communicate with clients, employees, and others to answer questions, address complaints, and explain information and all case-related queries.

Requirements:

  • An office assistant degree or associate's degree may be preferred.
  • Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish and English).
  • One year of demonstrable experience in related roles.
  • Interest in enthusiastically working with vulnerable communities. Strong and proven work ethic.
  • Ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Fast learner, proactive team-oriented, highly organized, and detail-oriented. Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and seek help or assistance as needed.
  • Familiarity with productivity tools and email systems like Google Workspace, Gmail, and Office.
  • Willing and capable of using office equipment.
