McCormick Barstow LLP has an opening for an experienced litigation/employment law secretary to work in our Fresno office for two attorneys with a busy practice. Qualified candidate must be detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and heavy calendaring. Should be able to able to prioritize and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision. Candidate must also have professional communication skills.

Responsibilities will include administrative office duties as well as opening and processing mail, calendaring, filing, scheduling depositions, preparation of client correspondence, processing of vendor bills, preparation of pleading shells and discovery shells, review and formatting of documents for filing with courts, and filing and serving such documents .

Requirements include:

• 4-6 years of previous legal secretary work;
• Ability to type 65 wpm;
• Ability to effectively communicate both oral and in written form;
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, address immediate concerns and manage expectations;
• Excellent word processing skills utilizing Microsoft Word, iManage, Compulaw and Excel;
• Experience with e-filings with state and federal courts, trial preparation;
• Basic knowledge of Legal Terminology;
• Experience in civil litigation required.
