Location: Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, One Lincoln Park, Midland PA 15059

Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center is seeking a full-time Custodian/Utility Worker. Custodian/Utility Workers can expect to work approximately 40hrs/week, Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. On occasion, this position will be scheduled to work a weekend day to provide custodial support.

To this end, Lincoln Park seeks to maintain a skilled and dedicated team of professional Custodian/Utility Workers. Custodian/Utility Workers are under the supervision of the Facilities Director.

Job Responsibilities

Custodian/Utility Workers are responsible for cleaning and maintaining areas inside and outside of Lincoln Park and Midland school facilities while complying with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing cleaning duties within the facilities;
• Performing basic maintenance within the facilities such as replacing light fittings (including repairing or replacing fixtures and bulbs), painting, moving of furniture, etc.
• Following verbal and written instructions from company supervisors;
• Performing basic landscaping duties such as mowing grass, tree trimming, weeding, and watering of plants;
• Snow and ice removal, using the proper equipment and tools and appropriate chemicals;
• Ensuring the safe handling and storage of chemicals used;
• Maintaining tools and equipment;
• Ordering and maintaining a working stock of custodial and maintenance supplies and equipment;
• Reporting to supervisor any needs or deficiencies that would prevent the timely completion of an assigned task.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret written work orders;
• Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods;
• Understanding of cleaning equipment and techniques;
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly without assistance while practicing safe lifting techniques;
• Ability to climb ladders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Custodian/Utility Worker;
• Working knowledge of mechanical landscaping equipment;
• Experience working with hazardous cleaning chemicals;
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge;
• Working knowledge of material handling equipment, including pallet jack, scissor lift, fork truck, etc.;
• Conducting basic repairs on landscaping and maintenance equipment.

Required Certifications/Licenses:

• Valid Driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

• There is frequent need to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, carry items, use the hands and fingers, climb stairs and ladders, balance, kneel, lift objects up to 50 pounds, and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• An essential function of this position is the employee’s attendance and physical presence within their assigned location.
