JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Contract Review Specialist will assist in reviewing legal and risk management issues in vendor contracts. Construction related background/experience is required. This position will have the option to work hybrid and/or remote, but the individual must reside near the Columbus, OH area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct preliminary contract reviews and provide mark-ups and recommendations regarding important legal and risk management issues.
• Review, revise and assist with negotiation of various contracts with owners and vendors.
• Organize contract files including but not limited to review copies, internal discussion notes, negotiation correspondence and final execution contract documents.
• Ensure that all records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Work with Project Managers to draft contract communications and notices.
• Attend meetings to assess progress on projects and take detailed notes to share with stakeholders.
• Analyze contracts to ensure they comply with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with various stakeholders including project managers, risk management professionals and senior executives.
• Request and review vendor insurance documents for compliance with Owner Contracts.
• Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers in preparation of Subcontracts and Purchase Contracts.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Construction related background/experience.
• 3 years’ experience in a contract administration role or related field.
• Legal experience and/or knowledge of contract law.
