Job Title: Director of Secondary Education

Location: District

JOB SUMMARY:

• To assist the Superintendent in providing leadership in curriculum development and accompanying instruction, staff development, and program evaluation to maintain the best possible educational program designed to meet the needs of the community and all secondary-level students.

• To ensure policies and curricula adopted by the Lancaster Board of Education are implemented under each course of study.

• Recruitment, selection, and evaluation of secondary administrative and certified staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree or higher.

• Valid Ohio Department of Education Principal’s or Superintendent’s License.

• A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.

• Experience in curriculum development, professional development, and supervision.

• Administrative experience at the building level is preferred.

• Organizational and planning skills.

• Ability to coordinate the services of and evaluate employees.

• Ability to develop dialogue and maintain open communication with various public agencies and governmental groups.

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

• Ability to maintain objectivity and composure in adverse situations.

• Strong knowledge of teaching techniques, curriculum research, utilization of data to improve instruction, and human behavior.
