CUSTODIAN - POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
About the Custodian Position
This position is primarily for cleaning and offers an immediate start.
Status:
- Custodian is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Hours:
- 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday evenings, 5 pm to 9 pm.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous building maintenance/cleaning experience
- Ability to pass a background check is required
- Able to lift & carry 50 lbs
- Ability to climb a 16' ladder while following OSHA safety guidelines
- Available to work Monday through Friday with a set schedule
- Must be on time and follow scheduled breaks
- Able to work on hands & knees while reaching around objects and into hard to reach areas
- Ability to work in awkward positions
- Capable of managing multiple tasks with varying timelines and deadlines
- Change bags in vacuum cleaner as appropriate and maintain overall working condition of custodial equipment
- Keep a timely schedule and modify as needed to meet daily requirements and other tasks as needed
- Ability to communicate overall project completion
- Able to communicate to supervisor supply needs well in advance
- Able to manage individual workload and coordinate with Operations Officer on larger projects
- Willing and able to train assistant custodial staff on day-to-day details
- High attention to detail is essential
- Practicing safe work habits is essential
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage is $18.00/hr
