LEEDO MANUFACTURING CO., L.P. is Hiring an EHS Compliance Specialist Near East Bernard, TX

We are seeking a dedicated EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Compliance Coordinator at our manufacturing facility. Which will require exposure to a non-climate controlled environment. The EHS Compliance Specialist will support, monitor, and sustain current and new compliance policies, reporting, and practices within manufacturing. The EHS Compliance Specialist will partner with manufacturing groups to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements through the help in, support training, and continuous improvement methodologies that promote inspection readiness within assigned areas with guidance. This position supports two locations; East Bernard and El Campo, Texas.
**Duties:**
  • Develops and recommends process improvements of department, equipment, or procedures to improve EHS compliance.
  • Responsible for collection of and updating of daily electronic usage logs and environmental compliance audits.
  • Manages hazardous waste inventory, disposal process and documentation control.
  • Oversees recycling efforts of empty chemical drums and scrap metal.
  • Manages Hazardous Communications Program, ensuring Safety Data Sheets, Inventory and Binder are maintained.
  • Monitors chemical storage locations, secondary containment, labeling and proper disposal.
  • Monitors potable drinking water sampling and documentation, as well as required reporting.
  • Actively involved in Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, sampling, and footprint improvements
  • Assists with consultant environmental audits and tracking any potential corrective actions to completion.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, manufacturing safety committee meetings and EHS compliance meetings.
  • Manage special projects as assigned by senior leadership.
  • Supports implementation of changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations.
  • Prepares / update communication materials and assists with training initiatives.
  • Additional duties as deemed necessary.
**Education, Experience, Skills:**
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; Bachelor of Science degree and/or EHS experience desirable.
  • Team problem-solving skills and strong oral communication skills are needed.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with other production supervisors.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing and lean manufacturing environments.
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency in completing assigned duties.
  • Must have or willing/able to complete Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER), Hazardous & Industrial Waste Mgt Course and/or Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper (DOT) Certification.
  • Must have or willing/able to complete Level D Water Operation License.
  • Proficiency in various software programs including MS Word, MS Excel, and IE Explorer.
