Langley Children's Center (LCC) is an employer-sponsored, licensed and accredited early learning program for children between 12 weeks and 5 years of age. LCC is open year-round from 7AM to 6PM, Monday through Friday.

We are seeking reliable, responsible and mature individuals interested in spending their summer working in classrooms with our youngest learners and their teachers. Summer Program teachers are responsible for supporting a positive and engaging learning environment for all children. You will engage children in active and quiet play experiences - indoors and outdoors - care for children's physical, emotional and social needs and follow the directions of classroom teachers. Additionally, summer teachers are responsible for maintaining teacher-child ratios and VA Department of Education licensing standards for health, nutrition and safety in a childcare center.

Requirements:

• US Citizenship is REQUIRED to have access to LCC
• Experience working with children between 10 months and 6 years of age
• Able to provide warm, nurturing and developmentally appropriate care to all children
• Attentive and responsive to the needs of young children; enjoy working with groups of young children; able to manage individual and group behaviors
• Dresses appropriately for a work place with young children; maintains professional demeanor, attitude and behaviors at all times
• Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds; able to be outdoors under hot/humid weather conditions
• Reliable transportation to the center; dependable employee
• Able to accept feedback and change behavior; team player, flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work a minimum of 6 weeks this summer and a later day shift- 8:30-5:30PM or 9-6PM

A resume and 2 professional references, able to speak to your work with young children, are required to be considered for an interview.

Summer Program teachers may begin as early as June 10th and work as late as August 23.

LCC is closed for the Juneteenth National Independence Day (06/19) and Independence Day (07/04).
