Konami Digital Entertainment is Hiring an Organized Play Specialist, Card Business Near Hawthorne, CA

  • The Organized Play Specialist, Card Business will work with Director, Organized Play on Regional Qualifiers, and other Tier 2 Events to ensure Regional Tournament Organizers have all their required items ahead of the start of the season. Will be the main point of contact for each Tournament Organizer who is hosting a Tier 2 or higher event. .

    Reports to: Associate OP and Events Manager, Card Business
    Subordinates: N/A

    Responsibilities:
    • Work with Director, Organized Play on Regional Qualifiers, and other Tier 2 Events.
    • Ensure Regional Tournament Organizers have all their required items ahead of the start of the season: all Regional Qualifier paperwork 30 days prior, all Regional Qualifier product available for purchase 21 days prior, and ensure the OP and Warehouse Specialist ships prizes at least 2 weeks before the Tournament Organizers’ scheduled Regional Qualifiers.
    • Be the main point of contact for each Tournament Organizer who is hosting a Tier 2 or higher event.
    • Ensure the website has the current FAQs and event listings for Tier 2 and higher events at least one month before the events start.
    • Keep track of data that is acquired from Tier 2 and higher events, such as invites awarded, disqualifications issue, and judge information.
    • Work with the Organized Play team on other initiatives to grow our Yu-Gi-Oh! player base and increase attendance at Tier 2 and higher events.
    • Ensure we keep accurate records of data that is acquired from Regional Qualifiers, including but not limited, to records of Invites awarded, judges attending events, and event paperwork received from Tournament Organizers.
    • Work with the Director, Organized Play, the Associate OP and Events Manager, and the OTS Liaison Team to ensure all required information is finalized to allow us to promote Tier 3 events at least 6 months ahead of their scheduled start date.
    • Make sure Tournament Organizers have a contract finalized and in place at least 6 months prior to Tier 3 and higher events.
    • Work with Warehouse Specialist to ensure all materials being used at a Tier 3 and higher events are cataloged and transport is arranged both to and from the events.
    • Be able to assist with onsite duties at Tier 3 and higher events for North America.
    • Work with Organized Play team to forecast material inventory needs, maintain accurate inventory, and ensure all prizing is ordered on time.
    • Work with Organized Play team to ensure all invoices are being processed in a timely fashion.
    • Maintain and update procedural and operational documents for all OP programs in North America. Coordinate with the Latin America OP Team so they have the most up-to-date version of these documents.
    The successful candidate will possess:
    • Strong leadership, decision making, and analytical skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
    • Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail.
    • Resourceful problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, and forecasting abilities.
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point.
    • The ability to travel.
    Required Experience:
    • Bachelor or higher in Marketing or Business, or equitable job experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in entertainment or consumer goods categories.
    • Extensive tournament or consumer event experience required.
    • MS Access, MS Project, Illustrator or Photoshop skills a plus.
