COMPOSITES / FIBERGLASS TECHNICIAN

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN IMAGINATIVE, CREATIVE AND RESOURCEFUL PERSON WHO CAN TAKE A HANDS ON APPROACH IN A VERY FAST PACED, SCENIC AND PROP SHOP. WE CURRENTLY HAVE A POSITION AVAILABLE FOR A DYNAMIC, SELF SUFFICIENT FIBERGLASS FABRICATOR.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Fiberglass fabrication experience (boat, sculpture, automotive other)
• Ability to select proper Fiberglass mats and cloth for the job
• Ability to mix resins and catalysts onto prepared molds
• Ability to use waxes, release agents, clay, etc.
• Experience using rollers, squeegees and other tools to smooth out fiberglass and remove air bubbles and wrinkles
• An ideal candidate has experience spraying chopped fiberglass, resins and catalyst onto prepared molds using pneumatic spray guns
• Experience in vacuum bagging, or setting up a mold for vacuum of fiberglass parts is a bonus, but not required
• Experience with bondo, bondo glass, lightweight epoxies and other finishing systems.
• Experience using various hand and power tools to build framing, install mold hardware, trim excess material, etc
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to wear a respirator and required PPE
• Positive, hard working, and detail oriented
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to problem solve
• Artistic and creative eye

ADDITIONAL SKILLS HUGE PLUS, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• Prior Scenic / Theming Experience
• Carpentry Experience
• Art training
