Responsible for safety, overall workflow, color matching, ink making responsibilities, inventory, billing, customer service, and pressroom troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• Proper professional attire for a person working with ink and chemicals while keeping in mind that we are a guest/partner, representing Ink Systems Inc.

• Be familiar with the requirements and SOP for each specific task required to accomplish inplant objectives.

• Knowledge and ability to operate all equipment safely and efficiently.

• Ability to match colors / formulate inks to the specifications that are requested and required for the print job.

• Have working knowledge of the materials used to match colors and create proper formulas.

• The ability to work and communicate well with all pressroom and supervisor levels as a guest/partner to the customer.

• Ability to work and communicate well with sales, and customer service representatives as a guest/partner of the customer.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.

• Responsible for ink product inventories.

• Understand printing press operations and basic offset printing press mechanics.

• Maintain and repeat suitable work schedules for the customer.
• Must be able to perform all tasks and duties required in an appropriate time frame.
• Basic math and computer skills to accomplish the task.

Manager Responsibilities:

• Create and enter master formulas into the computer database for upcoming print jobs.

• Estimate the amounts of inks needed for job-by-job basis, create batch tickets, weigh, mix, and quality control ink batch.

• Log and track ink usage while opening and closing jobs.

• Use spectrophotometer and computer software to ensure color consistency and quality.

• Use the spectrophotometer and software to measure and provide documents for proof submission to the customer when necessary.

• Compile neat and professional color match proof presentations.

• Participate in pre-job planning meetings with the customer. If needed, consult with the laboratory for additional information.

• Work with the press scheduling department to set workflow needs and priorities for upcoming ink needs.

• Analyze and troubleshoot situations involving press and ink problems.
