The Kauai Humane Society (KHS) is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety and upkeep of our physical property, which includes our shelter facility, thrift store, vehicles, and incinerator.
**Qualifications**
As a Maintenance Technician, Your Responsibilities Will Include
Candidates already residing on Kauai or a Hawaiian island, with secured housing within 2 weeks, will be given first consideration for the position.

**Qualifications**
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Valid Hawaii Driver's license, or valid out-of-state license with a clear driving record
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical, mechanical, construction, landscaping, and plumbing
- Comfort and respect around dogs and cats
As a Maintenance Technician, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Performing various maintenance tasks on the property
- Reading blueprints for projects such as overseeing installations and ensuring safety compliance
- Conducting preventative maintenance to extend the life of shelter components
- Inspecting buildings for repair needs
- Managing activities like waste disposal and vehicle maintenance
- Responding to urgent situations as needed, including weekends and holidays
- Other assigned duties
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop frequently
- Capable of lifting objects up to 50 pounds independently, or up to 100 pounds with assistance
