Hill Country Barbecue Market is seeking Counter Servers to join our team! Hill Country is a tribute to the traditional Central Texas barbecue experience, southern hospitality, and the artistry of Downtown Austin. We serve freshly smoked meats every single day along with our rotating menu of seasonal sides, specials, and desserts.
Counter Servers are the face of our service, bringing each guest through the traditional barbecue market experience. Counter Servers are responsible for offering informed and caring service to each guest.
Expectations & Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable and able to accurately and attractively describe all food items
- Upsell menu items, including add-ons such as cornbread, pickles, onions, and jalapeños
- Highlight less visible items and high-profit items
- Recommend appropriate portion sizes, combos and platters, and daily specials
- Provide counter/cafeteria-style service including greeting and serving customers, some cold food preparation, stocking counters and sides, and maintaining sanitation standards
We have both Full-Time and Part-Time positions open. Open availability is preferred. If you’re a fan of barbecue, a Texas native, or just love good hospitality, we’d love for you to apply!
