Hampton Manor of Cape Coral is Hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Job ID: 3109) Near Huntsville, AL
- Hill Technical Solutions, a Valkyrie company, is hiring for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team supporting development, integration, test, and evaluation in Hardware in the Loop labs in our Huntsville, AL location.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with developing software for real-time implementations and with integrating avionics hardware and software within real-time closed-loop simulation environments.
- Support flight software integration within a high-fidelity, real-time 6DOF simulation.
- Integrate avionics hardware and software within real-time closed-loop simulation environments.
- Perform integration of PCIe IO devices with a real-time 6DoF model.
- Perform diagnostic software analysis, real-time OS control, and collaboration with hardware, software, and simulation teams to determine and evaluate performance characteristics.
- Use lab tools (DVM, oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.) to verify system configuration.
- Test and evaluate specific systems with a team of engineers.
- Software may be required to diagnose or test specific components.
- Hands-on testing, diagnostic work as well as software integration and development.
- Debug software and hardware issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of avionics hardware.
- Provide technical support to other teams as needed.
- Interaction with customers and vendors will be required.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or science field and at least 5 years of experience in software development for real-time closed-loop implementations.
- Must be able to work in a Linux environment.
- Must be fluent in C/C .
- Must be proficient in debugging software issues.
- Must have excellent skills in Customer and Team Communication and Collaboration.
- Must have the ability to work with software and hardware.
- Must have the ability to Document and explain work.
- Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Prefer familiarity with tools such as GDB/console-level debugging, VS Code (or similar), and Git.
- Prefer experience with various Linux distro installs.
- Prefer experience performing kernel configuration.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Occasional travel- less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. - May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
