JOB DUTIES:

The primary function of the Engineering Manager is to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. This position is also responsible for assuring product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; and confirming manufacturing processes, providing on time information to the Sales team to complete the quoting process, and developing new solutions to the customer through Engineering Design.

• Interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
• Oversees and develops the existing Engineer staff including identifying individual training needs and creating performance and career development plans for those individuals.
• Works with Sales Department to accurately quote projects.
• Performs initial and ongoing design reviews.
• Submits a scope of work for each project that identifies budgetary numbers and the goal of each project.
• Reviews processes to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identifies process, deficiencies, and develop solutions to improve those deficiencies.
• Develops 3D models to run simulations.
• Designs new parts and tooling.
• Works with Operations Manager and Quality Manager in resolving quality issues.
• Identifies and participates in ISO / IATF related activities.
• Develops and supports systems and procedures to monitor and manage the quality of performance of outside vendors.
• Is consistently audit ready through basic applications of process requirements.
• Oversees and develops the existing Engineer staff including identifying individual training needs and creating performance and career development plans for those individuals.
• Provides leadership to establish and monitor customer/supplier relations, strategic planning and develop initiatives and measurements to determine organizational improvement.
• Follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient in 3D modeling and Programming software
• Thorough understanding of CNC tooling and metals
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong supervisory skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
• 3-5 years Mechanical Engineer experience
• At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with ISO 9001and IATF Quality standards and certifications
• Software experience in Creo, Solid Works, Auto Cad preferred
• Experience and knowledge of the forging process preferred

SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm with overtime as required on Fridays
