As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.
Day to day, you would be responsible for providing care to patients. Our nursing staff demonstrates their knowledge, critical thinking, and judgment. Services provided by the RN include; supervising care delivered, coordinating plans of care, and providing education for patients/families.
The Stepdown unit is a 18 bed unit specializing in the care of the ICU Stepdown patient. This unit cares for complex medical surgical patients, cardiac patients, stroke patients, sepsis and other diagnoses including patients requiring closer monitoring. Our patient population offers a great variety of learning opportunities related to cardiac rhythms and EKG’s, medication drips requiring titration, bedside cardioversions, and NIH stroke scale. We welcome new and experienced staff and enjoy teaching. We promote a healthy work environment and have an active unit based shared governance. Teamwork is a priority on our busy unit as we strive to provide safe and high quality care to our patients.
· Active Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois or other compact licensure state
