The Hampton Inn and Suites at the University is looking for an exceptional Hotel Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager reports to and works under the direction of the General Manager.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for assisting the General Manager in all operations of the Hotel. Every manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the hotel. It is the responsibility of the Operations Manager to help train and guide all hotel associates so that the hotel can achieve maximum employee performance. The Operations Manager is responsible for the hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.
Duties may include but not limited to:
*Works with General Manager and department heads to develop and implement departmental strategies and ensures implementation of brand initiatives.
*Ensures all areas of the hotel meet and exceed the brand’s standards.
*Ensures proper staffing at all times for front desk, night audit, housekeeping, laundry and houseman. Provides coverage as needed in these departments when staffing is needed.
*Assists General Manager with hiring, onboarding, and training.
*Resolves customer complaints/queries satisfactorily while maintaining a courteous and helpful demeanor.
*Controls and analyze departmental costs to ensure performance is within budget.
*Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
*Balance property credit cards resolving any issues as they occur.
*Maintain accuracy and documentation of house account charges to be allowanced off weekly.
* Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements as assigned.
* Resolve and respond to all billing inquiries and disputes while keeping record of credit card authorization forms.
* Respond and resolve company chargeback disputes.
* Prepare and keep up to date the properties tax exemption binders for recordkeeping.
* Post and refund advance purchase and advance deposit payment daily.
*Prepare, process and send items back to guests via UPS or FedEx that may have been left at the hotel as directed by housekeeping.
* Maintain record keeping for hotel to ensure compliance with company standards and audits.
*An understanding of P&L statements and the ability to assist with strategizing.
*Prepare daily reports for Office.
*Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
*Prepare and deliver al bank deposits for hotel as assigned.
*Be able to post sales, and accounts receivable checks, and make corrections as needed in the system.
*Give all guests prompt and courteous service.
*Ensure all hotel employees’ main focus is the happiness of the guests.
*Assist in overseeing the operations functions of the hotel as assigned by the General Manager. It may involve helping in any department including cleaning and inspecting rooms.
*Available to be on call 24/7 to cover Front Desk, Breakfast and Housekeeping shifts including overnight.
*Take ownership of all guest complaints
*Hold regular briefings and meetings alongside the GM with all head of departments.
*Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
*Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).
*Give all customers prompt and courteous service and ensure that hotel employees do the same.
*Job may require other duties as assigned.
