About the Position
The Assembly Technician is responsible for final aircraft assembly and testing. They install and test
electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, structural, powerplant, and flight systems per engineering instructions.
They use a variety of hand tools, instruments, measuring devices, equipment, and jigs to perform
operations safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Read and understand engineering blueprints and technical direction to build subassemblies and
systems.
  • Use hand tools to drill, tighten, and connect components.
  • Use measurement and testing equipment to validate operational parameters.
  • Perform testing of components and systems and troubleshoot as necessary to achieve
engineered specifications.
  • Utilize FOD prevention techniques on a continual basis.
  • Complete checklists of own work and check other’s work as necessary.
  • Comply with all company policies on safe work practices.
  • Frequently work while walking, sitting, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, crouching, laying,
and reaching.

Experience and Qualifications required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with typical assembly equipment such as hand tools.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to read and decipher engineering blueprints.
  • Ability to use precision measurement equipment and understand basic shop math.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high drive for world class quality and finish.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that support working in a team environment.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • FAA airframe and powerplant (A&P) certification or previous experience working on, modifying,
or assembling aircraft.
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge or experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and practices.
