Future Foundation is Hiring a Certified Teacher Math Near Atlanta, GA

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Certified Teacher

Work Schedule: Part-time, 4:30pm-6:30pm

REPORTS TO: CEO, COO or Director

JOB SUMMARY:

To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in the learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the CEO, COO or Director.

Expectations and Measurements: Required goals and objectives as described in detail from the approved grant per the site:

  • Academic: Ensure improvements in grades (math and English language arts); pass all State assessments
  • Enriching the Whole Child: Improvements in decreasing risky behavior and character education
  • Recruitment: Assist with the entire recruitment process for one’s specific site.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Future Foundation.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required.
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare the classroom for class activities.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following.

  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
  • Encourage parent involvement, obtain information for parents when requested.
  • Promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as field trips and related activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop promotional literature to ensure consistent brand messaging and communication of value proposition in recruitment activities across the community’s Future Foundation services.
  • Research market data and other pertinent information relevant to designated geographic areas to positively impact recruitment success.
  • Distribute information to the community and broader publics through multiple channels.
  • Distribute information to FF staff and volunteers regarding engagement activities.
  • Coordinate all volunteer engagement events with programs and assist with coordination of volunteer engagement and community appreciation events organizationally, as scheduled; and
  • Distribute FF marketing and merchandise distribution.

Administrative Support

  • General administrative support including, but not limited to scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and answering phones.

  • B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching.
  • State certification in teaching in appropriate subject area.
  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district, and state.
  • Prominent levels of personal organization and project management skills
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic, initiative and can move complex projects forward without micromanagement.
  • Strong customer service-based approach to recruiting and strong relationship building skills.
  • Exceptional research, writing, analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear, concise and logical manner.
  • Good judgment, discretion, tact and the ability to work easily with senior leaders within the charitable, government, and business sectors.
  • Ability to partner well with colleagues both within and outside of the organization.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to develop and maintain healthy relationships with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging environment with competing deadlines.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license with clean driving record.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word Office and cloud-based apps such as OneDrive/SharePoint, OneNote, and other data management systems experience.
