Eye Surgeons Associates PC is Hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant Near Bettendorf, IA

Eye Surgeons Associates is seeking 2 Ophthalmic Assistant (scribe) positions to join our practice!

Responsibilities:

  • Patient care: Monitoring schedules, preparing exam lanes, obtaining visual acuity, assisting with eye exams and minor procedures, and educating patients.
  • Equipment operation and maintenance: Opening and closing exam lanes, maintaining equipment, performing automated visual field tests, OCT, and slit lamp photos, and maintaining the autoclave.
  • Documentation and compliance: Recording physician's findings, documenting charges, ordering tests, maintaining medical records, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company standards.
  • Administrative duties: Acting as a liaison between the physician and patient, responding to tasks and phone calls, ordering supplies, overseeing waiting areas, and seeking additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Quality measures and government mandates: Documenting requirements per company policy and fulfilling other responsibilities assigned by supervisors/directors.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • College courses preferred
  • Medical Terminology preferred
  • Ability to compute basic math
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail
  • Must have good communication skills

Office hours: Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm
