Remote Video Viewing Terminal (RVVT) consists of Video Down-Link (VDL) products such as the VideoScout Mobile Configuration 2 (VS-MC/2), VideoScout Mobile Configuration 3 (VS-MC/3), and Man Portable Video Down-Link (MPVDL) that allows for the viewing and exploitation of Full Motion Video (FMV) from Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets. VDL systems are mission-critical for the coordination of direct and indirect fires and the prevention of fratricide. These systems provide the warfighter with video and metadata from all USMC manned and unmanned aircraft such as the Raven B, Puma, Micro-UAS, Shadow, Predator, Fire Scout, and Litening Pod on P-3, AV8-B, and F/A-18. Data is displayed to Forward Observers (FO), Joint Fires Observers (JFO), Joint Terminal Attack Coordinators (JTAC), and Forward Air Controller (FAC). The RVVT Subject Matter Expert (SME) will enable the warfighters of the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) to setup, configure, troubleshoot, and operate RVVT systems to allow operators to view and exploit Full Motion Video (FMV) from Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) sources. SME will support Tactical C5ISR systems in CONUS and OCONUS regions supporting units in combat operations and/or advise/assist with missions. In this role you will:
• Train the FMF to set up, configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain the RVVT systems.
• Assist units to acquire and update RVVT software and access maps.
• Interface with FMF personnel and US Government employees to provide break/fix support to USMC tactical networks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Research questions using available information resources: technical manuals, operating and administrator guides, fleet advisory messages (FAMs), and internal approved knowledge base(s).
• Identify and elevate situations requiring urgent attention.
Knowledge and Technical Certification
• Familiar with USMC tactical Command and Control systems and fires systems. • Familiar with maneuver control measures.
• Familiar with AN/PSQ-45 and AN/PRC-165 Handheld-Video Data Link (HH-VDL) tactical radios a plus.
Qualifications
• Experience working with customers, addressing issues, and managing customer concerns and requests over the phone and/or in person.
• Strong active listening, data entry, and documentation skills.
• Experience writing technical solutions and commercial knowledgebase articles.
• Intermediate analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and consistent resolution of IT problems.
