Maintenance Tech- Courtyard by Marriott Collegeville (600 Campus Drive Collegeville, PA 19426) In our hotel, the Maintenance Tech position performs the duties necessary to maintain the physical structure of the hotel and keep it in good repair. These duties include carpentry, routine plumbing, minor electrical work, minor mechanical repairs and other maintenance duties. We are looking for someone to keep our facility in compliance will all safety standards so that we can give our guests, and fellow employees, a safe environment to enjoy. Our company is all about teamwork and first class guest service, so the candidate we are searching for has a warm and friendly personality that puts our guests at ease and sets expectations of excellence in guest room/hotel functionality.
The ideal Maintenance Engineer candidate has a high school diploma/GED (on-the-job training and experience combination may substitute for education requirement), prior hotel/maintenance experience, an ability to lift 75 pounds frequently, be able to stand for long periods of time, and is willing/able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Pay: $19/hr.

Hours: 40 hours per week.

Typical schedule: Wednesday-Sunday with rotation of hours of 2pm-10pm shifts with some days possibly 12pm-8pm. Monday/Tuesdays off.

Responsibilities:

  • Smile when on-stage
  • Makes general repairs: Repairs on general plumbing systems, hvac, electrical, building, etc...
  • Performs painting and repairing of walls, furniture, cabinets, and windows, doors locks and keys.
  • Performs minor electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Performs minor repairs on fans and air conditioners
  • Performs routine plumbing repairs
  • Performs rough carpentry work
  • Assists in administration of an ongoing preventive maintenance program for equipment and guest rooms; performs planned maintenance on equipment to prolong life and prevent shut down, e.g., minor lubrications, adjustments, and cleaning
  • Assists in administration of special maintenance programs
  • Assists in maintenance of departmental tools, workspaces, and equipment.
  • Know/observes safety precautions and fire safety procedures and emergency action plans and use of fire control/alarm systems and extinguishers
  • Assists guest with maintenance requests and communicates efficiently and respectfully.
  • Communicates clearly with hotel staff pertaining to maintenance related issues/fixes
  • Guest and Staff Related Responsibilities
  • Light cleaning of areas during maintenance repairs
  • Other responsibilities given by management

Educational/Vocational Preparation:High school diploma or GED is preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer technical training in mechanical and electrical fields; experience in maintenance of refrigeration, heating and cooling, carpentry, and plumbing; On-the-job training may substitute for educational/vocational training requirements
  • High school diploma or GED desired (but not necessary)
  • Requires ability to perform light to heavy physical labor: Lifting, Bending, Reaching, Stretching, Pushing and Pulling.
  • Requires ability to lift 75 pounds frequently
  • Requires valid driver's license with no major driving violations within the last 5 years to drive company vehicle
  • Requires ability to communicate in a positive and service oriented manner both orally and in writing to guests and members of the maintenance/hotel staff/ guests
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays
  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
