Crown Electrokinetics is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Near Corvallis, OR

Company Description

The Company

Crown Electrokinetics (Nasdaq: CRKN) is a smart glass technology company and the creator of DynamicTint - We Make Your Glass Smarter™. Originally invented by Hewlett-Packard (HP, Inc.), our technology allows any glass surface to transition between clear and dark in seconds, with applications to a wide array of windows, including commercial buildings, automotive sunroofs, and residential skylights. At the core of our technology is a thin film that is powered by electrically charged pigment which not only replaces common window tints but is also a more sustainable alternative to traditional window treatments. With its unique ability to be retrofitted to existing glass, DynamicTint™ offers a myriad of benefits related to reducing carbon emissions. The company is supported by a robust patent portfolio.

Crown is a culture-driven company that rewards initiative and allows for growth and autonomy. We encourage and reward free thinking. Deeply passionate about technology that helps the world reduce carbon emissions, we are an inclusive team that is looking to add skill sets in all areas of the Company.

Job Description

The Opportunity

Crown Electrokinetics has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing engineer who will design and develop equipment and processes for manufacturing Crown’s smart window film, DynamicTint™. Our pigment-based film, called DynamicTint™, allows a glass surface to transition between clear and dark in seconds. This technology lowers energy consumption by controlling the amount of light, and therefore heat, that enters a room, which reduces the need for HVAC and lighting during the day. DynamicTint™ is powered by solar strips, further reducing carbon emissions. Additionally, DynamicTint™ retrofits existing glass, eliminating the need to replace and install new windows.

The Manufacturing Engineer will lead the development of roll-to-roll manufacturing and processes to produce large-area smart window film. This is an exciting opportunity where you will work with a blank piece of paper to set up a manufacturing operation from the ground up, implementing processes and significantly impacting our manufacturing practice.
