* Greenfield Housing Authority - Youth Activities Coordinator - AmeriCorps Member *

• Build connections with the Greenfield Housing residents with a focus on the youth.
• Organize and facilitate activities and trainings for residents, with a focus on creative learning, restorative practices, positive youth development, and civic engagement.
• Provide assistance accessing local resources such as: Fuel Assistance, SNAP, MassHealth, affordable internet, school/camp enrollment, food pantries, job readiness programs, money management programs, etc.
• Support on-site activities such as: the Mobile Food Bank, the Baystate Wellness Bus, the Just Roots Cooking Classes, Digital Navigation Outreach & Support, etc.
• Promote information and services through the Oak Court's Community Center social media page, weekly calendars, and fliers.

The DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps Program is a leadership program where AmeriCorps Members serve full-time to support positive youth development and strengthen community. They build relationships and make connections that lead to future education and employment opportunities.

* LEARN BY DOING *

Joining DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps is not like a typical job. It's a learning experience, a chance to try on new things, connect with peers, and grow in community. We often have members graduate at the end of the ten month saying that they learned more in the program than they did in a year of college. They made connections, contributions, and grew in ways that set them up for the next phase of their life.

DSAP Members:

• Serve full-time (40 hours/week) for 10-months (August-June) during the academic school year.
• Serve Monday-Thursday with the Greenfield Housing Authority.
• Participate in a weekly learning community and peer support network with their fellow AmeriCorps members on Fridays.
• Collaborate on team service projects to strengthen leadership skills and community resources.
• Participate in monthly individual goal-setting meetings to make the most of the year and set themselves up for the future.
• Receive coaching and guidance from the DSAP staff, site supervisors, and peer cohort, which offer a support network to make service as manageable and rewarding as possible.
• Gain skills and clarify their goals. They build friendships and relationships that lead to future opportunities.

DSAP Members receive:

• $7,395 Education Award (for student loans / college expenses)
• $1,727/Month Stipend
• Free health insurance
• Weekly training, ongoing support & guidance, leadership development, a peer support network, and opportunities to learn directly from teachers, social workers, community leaders, and young people!
• Most members are eligible for benefits like SNAP (food) and Fuel Assistance (winter heating). Member living stipends do not impact DTA benefits like typical income might.

AmeriCorps Members must be at least 18 years old, a US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident, and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
