Provide effective behavioral management techniques and crisis intervention approaches to de-escalate clients in crisis and return them to the milieu. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Responsible for overall building management required to ensure safety.
Assumes charge of building when assigned as TS on Duty and/or support if alternate TS is assigned this responsibility.
Supervises the creation of positive and effective behavioral management interventions consistent with treatment plans.
Ensures crisis and therapeutic interventions are provided to clients in distress or crisis.
Supports staff in using lower level interventions.
Provides and documents weekly supervisions with counselors.
Completes timely, efficient, and accurate documentation in record keeping system including Internal and Critical Incident Reports.
Provide support/assistance with medication management, meal distribution, attendance, client transportation, and scheduling as needed.
Ensures that all staff are aware of building, transportation, and all other policies/procedures.
Communicates with on-call clinician for necessary notifications and crisis management.
Minimum BA psychology or related field and/or equivalent experience
2 yrs minimum experience working with clients with significant emotional disabilities
Supervisory experience preferred.

Strong crisis management and therapeutic intervention skills for clients who may be in distress or crisis
Ability to communicate effectively with the team, clients, their parents, and outside professionals
Necessary knowledge and skills to be able to appropriately implement behavior management interventions
Counseling and assessment skills that demonstrate knowledge of adolescent development and pathology and rationale for therapeutic interventions
Good attention to detail as well as ability to focus on bigger picture
Ability and willingness to work as part of a team and engage in positive conflict resolution
Strong interpersonal skills to support and supervise staff
Other Requirements
Valid Colorado Driver's license
Good driving record that qualifies for DCH insurance coverage
Able to pass the agency's driver certification
Meet all Colorado Department of Human Services regulations regarding health and safety of staff
QMAP trained or able to successfully complete QMAP training
TCI trained or able to successfully complete TCI training
First Aid and CPR trained or able to successfully complete first aid and CPR training
Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Requires continuous walking, standing, sitting, fine hand or finger movement, detailed sight and hearing. Significant and frequent use of physical and sensory requirements associated with verbal and written communication, hearing acuity and visual acuity to observe and record client behaviors and activities. Ability to do restrictive procedures in accordance with Denver Children's Home Therapeutic Crisis Intervention guidelines. Requires use of office equipment requiring repetitive wrist/hand movement and vision. Ability to routinely perform light lifting of 1-20 lbs., with occasional moderate lifting of 21-60 lbs. and heavy lifting of more than 61 lbs. Frequently pushes or pulls objects up to 60 lbs., with occasional pushing or pulling of objects over 61 lbs. Frequent bending or stooping and reaching above shoulder level. Requires climbing of stairs on a regular basis. Occasional driving automatic equipment/vehicles. May experience temperature fluctuations, from heat to cold due to environment changes of the Home and the need to work outdoors at times. Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
