JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision assists in the planning and promoting of events and meetings for Currituck County to increase travel and tourism in the destination. Assists in securing vendors and collecting vendor contracts. Uses initiative and creativity to assist in the planning and promotion of new events. Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including computers, typewriters, copiers, calculators, facsimile machines, cameras, etc. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Requires the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
