Colvard-Kandavel Eye Center is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Encino, CA

We are a well-respected and established multi-physician Ophthalmology practice in Encino, CA.

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and organized candidate to fill our full-time ophthalmic technician position. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be punctual, reliable, multi-task oriented, energetic, and possess a positive, professional attitude.

We have a great working environment and we take pride in giving our patients outstanding customer service.

This position is primarily responsible for patient work up, education, and follow up. This position will complete all necessary work up including obtaining medical and surgical history, and the completion of all diagnostic testing. This position is also responsible for assisting the doctor in the exam lane.

JOB DESCRIPTION: TECHNICIAN

Regular Duties

  • Documents Patient Medical and Social History
  • Documents Medications and Allergies
  • Checks Visual Acuity
  • Performs Lensometry
  • Performs Auto and Manual Refraction (Minus)
  • Performs preliminary Contact Lens Fittings
  • Performs Tonometry
  • Performs ASCAN
  • Performs Corneal Topography
  • Performs Optos Fundus Photography
  • Performs OCT imaging
  • Performs Visual Field Tests
  • Prepares prescriptions/prior authorizations when required
  • Maintains medical records for patients
  • Other duties may be assigned.

**Compulink Electronic Health Record System experience preferred
**35-45 WPM min. typing is required
** PAY RATE depends on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
