The primary role of an SAS Coach is to facilitate the learning process and provide intervention for students with learning differences in accordance with the policies and philosophy of Christian education at Cole Valley Christian Schools.
Job Responsibilities:
· Integrates Biblical truths and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the sessions with students.
· Implements student educational plans to meet individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
· Employs a variety of intervention methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated goals and objectives.
· Collaborates with teachers and other professionals to provide services to meet students’ needs and goals.
· Assesses the performance and measures growth of the student’s individualized Education Plan.
· Participates in Parent Teacher Conferences with student’s Teacher team.
· Provides individual instruction for students based on student strengths and weaknesses.
· Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains proper discipline and order in the classroom and on the school premises.
· Employs authoritative discipline with grace, truth and love.
· Keeps students, parents and the administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies.
· Partners with parents by communicating concerns, progress, and supportive resources.
· Models and explicitly teaches age-appropriate executive function skills, academic and other skills, as lined out in student plan.
Qualifications Required:
· A testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
· Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
· A passion for teaching core subjects (language arts and math) to a wide variety of abilities and grades in a small group setting.
· Working knowledge of best practices and a desire to gain further training in helping students that may have significant learning differences and/or cognitive weaknesses.
· Demonstrated ability to work in unity as part of a team, serving others.
· This job has a physical agility component.
· At least 2 years of experience working with students in a professional capacity.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Certification Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

· Equivalent experience working with elementary students demonstrating an understanding of age-appropriate social, emotional, physical, and academic challenges.
Job Data:
· Hours: Part-time at 27 hours per week
· Salary: Starts at $16,775.43 per year. Actual salary is dependent on experience.
· Benefits: Does not qualify for medical, dental, vision or retirement benefits.
· Tuition Discount: 25% tuition discount. Does not include fees.
· Time Off: 24 hours of paid personal time, 24 hours of paid sick time and 3 days paid bereavement days.
