Overview:
Cleveland Road Animal Hospital is growing and seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team!
$1,500 Signing Bonus for Technicians Registered in the State of Ohio
Relocation bonus available for qualified candidates!
We are a growing 6-doctor AAHA accredited practice that specializes in providing high quality, compassionate, and convenient care for our patients. We recognize the importance of the relationships between humans and animals, and we see our clients and patients as extended family. Our practice provides many services such as wellness services, surgery, radiology, laser therapy, an in-house laboratory, and boarding. We are committed to providing the most advanced veterinary diagnostics and treatments in an environment of care and compassion. We place a premium on individual care for each patient.

Schedule: We offer a full-time schedule however are open to PT candidates. Our work schedule includes staggering hours from 7 am to 5 pm, 8 am to 6 pm, or 9 am to 7 pm including some weekend rotations.
Rotational On-call and Saturdays required.
Compensation: $22-25/hr

We are looking for a candidate who ideally holds veterinary technician licensure through the state of Ohio. We are also open to considering elevated veterinary assistants with experience and new veterinary technician graduates.
How you'll make an impact:
Provide quality patient care in tandem with other medical professionals.
Be proficient in a variety of skills ranging from but not limited to: laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery and dentistry.
Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in patient files. Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.
Schedule appointments, take payments and check-in clients. Answer practice phone lines.
Participate in any special cleaning duties and equipment maintenance as directed.
Support a work environment and culture that values critical thinking, problem solving, engagement, inclusion and diversity at all levels.
Ideal qualifications:
1 years of technician experience required or 2-3 years of veterinary assistant experience.
Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (RVT) specific positions also available!
Physical demands and work environment
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of a coworker. Requires sufficient ambulatory skills.
Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
Employee is routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances.
Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information with all clients and team members.

Job Summary: The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) provides leadership and training to the medical support staff in the operation of a small animal facility in accordance with hospital policy and procedures, and provides medical care to patients as allowed in the veterinary practice act. The RVT will be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients and have great attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Responsibilities:

Maintain and uphold Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
Provide guidance to the support staff to assure that the shift flows well
Provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations.
Provide patient care under the supervision and direction of a DVM.
Maintain excellent client communication.
Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information.
Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.
Answer client's inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures; handle client's medical questions with confidence and direct to veterinarians when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Some veterinary industry experience required.
Must be proficient in a variety of skills ranging from but not limited to laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental and nursing skills.
Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, and ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis.
Ability to give SQ, IM and IV injections.
Knowledge of usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs and ability to readily explain them to the clients.
