The City of Springdale is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works to provide support in the management of departmental programs, operations, and projects. The Assistant Director will directly supervise, schedule, and coordinate maintenance operations and personnel in the repair and maintenance of streets, storm sewers, landscaping, and the City’s vehicle fleet.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Five years of Public Works experience
• Three years of supervisory experience in Public Works operations or a related field
• Associate’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field of study with a bachelor’s preferred. A combination of work experience, training, and other education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may also be considered in lieu of a degree
• Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL - Class A) within six months of employment
• Good interpersonal relationship skills

The salary range for this position is $67,643.57 - $105,523.98 depending on qualifications with a comprehensive benefits package to include: vacation pay; holiday pay; compensatory time; sick leave accrual; state pension (OPERS); life insurance; health, dental, and vision insurance with a health savings account; longevity pay; employee assistance program; and Community Center membership.
