JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Recruiter/trainer will train and license families pursuing either family, therapeutic, or Kinship foster parent status with the State of Georgia through Choices for Life of Georgia. The recruiter/trainer coordinates and participates in home studies, initial and ongoing training of foster parents throughout the year including NTDC and Therapeutic Foster Care and/or related topics, CPR and First Aid and State and Agency required training, as well as any other training identified through the program.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED TASKS:

A. Recruit, train and assist in maintaining foster families who can be certified by Choices for Life of Georgia, LLC for foster parent licensure in the State of Georgia.

1. Conduct initial outreach to interested families

2. Acquiring documentation for certification.

3. Conduct and document individual and/or group Information Session, Special Needs Training, NTDC and ongoing training throughout the year.

B. Train and assist in maintaining foster families who have the ability and desire to provide foster care to the vulnerable youth who are referred to Choices’ Foster Care Program. Maintain foster family recruitment chart until approval and certification.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree from accredited College in Psychology, social work, or related field and previous work experience in related field is required

· Certification in a state-mandated foster parent training curriculum or the ability to gain certification is also required

· Experience in the NTDC and SAFE Models preferred.

· Previous experience providing case management/supervising foster care services preferred.

· Experience recruiting or training foster parents preferred
