Job Overview:
A Child's Garden School, San Gabriel is seeking a passionate Preschool Teacher to join our team and provide a nurturing educational environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for teaching. As a key member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages the social, emotional and cognitive development of preschool-aged children.

Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote the intellectual and social development of preschool-aged children, including social skills, language development, cognitive and motor skill building
- Classroom Management: Create a safe, supportive, positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and creativity; manage behaviors effectively through positive reinforcement and age-appropriate discipline strategies; Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a structured and organized learning environment
- Individualized Learning: Provide individualized attention to each child to support their unique learning needs, adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Effective Communication: Establish an dmaintain open and regular communication with parents, providing updates on student progress, development or concerns that may arise; foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members to ensure open communication and collaboration
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other preschool staff members to plan and coordinate activities, share resources, and ensure a cohesive and enriching learning experience
- Assessment and Reporting: Conduct regular assessments to monitor the developmental progress of each child. Prepare and share progress reports with parents to keep them informed about their child's achievements and areas for growth
- Health and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe learning environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines; be prepared to respond effectively in case of emergency

Requirements:
- 6-12 Early Childhood Education units completed OR Associate Teacher/Teacher Permit from California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- Previous experience working in a preschool setting with a focus on developmental milestones is preferred
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood teaching methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Passion for educating young children and fostering their growth and development
- Patience, flexibility and a genuine love for working with young children

Regular part-time hours are Monday through Friday from 830am to 100pm (22.5 hours each week). One shift available from 100pm to 5pm (20 hours each week).

Pay commensurate with education and experience, starting at $16/hour
