The Opportunity:

We are hiring for a Part Time, mid-level Billing Accounts Receivables professional. This is an opportunity for a candidate to enhance operational efficiency by managing, processing, and auditing all insurance and patient payments against services rendered. The ideal candidate would have previous experience in medical billing, knowledge of insurance processes and excellent communication skills.

This new staff member will be joining our current Family Financial liaison to help the growing need in our Finance department. The more kids we help, the more help our billing department needs! Please come join us and make a positive impact!

Overview: Effective management of all billing receivables. This role is to ensure accurate billing practices, timely collection of payments, and resolution of billing discrepancies, and follow up on denials. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and is committed to supporting the financial sustainability of our healthcare services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Processing, posting and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.
  • Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information for processed payments or insurance denials.
  • Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Collaborating with the financial department and third-party entities to assure accurate revenue reporting and ensure compliance with all legal and company policies and procedures.
  • Understanding the Explanation of Benefits and what the insurance company is communicating to the company.
  • Ability to call insurance companies to inquire further on reasons for denials.

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 2 - 3 years of experience in medical billing or related field.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and MS Office software especially MS Excel.
  • Understanding of healthcare insurance procedures, coverage plans and claims processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective interaction with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling bulk payments and claims.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in pediatric medical billing would be highly regarded
  • A Certified Professional Billing (CPB) or relative certification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ICD-10 Coding and CPT.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Our clinic utilizes Fusion Web Clinic as our EMR. Most Remittances are electronic with EFT.
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices to medicaid and commercial plans.
