Centers for Children and Families is Hiring a Youth Development Professional (Summer Program) Near Norman, OK

Youth Development Professional

Hourly, Non-Exempt, Temporary

Boys & Girls Club of Norman at Center for Children and Families, Inc. (CCFI) is seeking multiple Youth Development Professionals for the 2024 Summer Program. This position provides youth development services to Club participants at Boys & Girls Club of Norman. This position involves researching, coordinating, planning, preparing and facilitating activities for Club members as assigned and reports to the Boys & Girls Club of Norman Program Director. This position must be available to work up to 40 hours per week for 8 weeks in June and July. Shifts will be scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

CCFI is one of Cleveland County’s oldest and most successful independent, private nonprofit agencies. Located in the heart of Norman, CCFI offers a wide range of strengths-based services to vulnerable children, youth and families.

CCFI offers a team-oriented, family-friendly and flexible work environment, and an hourly rate that will be commensurate with experience.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate planning, preparation and facilitate activities including arts and crafts, sports, games, and presentation of a social and emotional learning and other curricula as assigned
  • Provide support to Club members and members’ families using strengths based approach
  • Attend all required program staffing and other meetings, workshops and trainings
  • Complete Behavior Reports as needed
  • Use behavior management skills, structure, and positive leadership to act as a caring adult role model for youth
  • Provide intensive supervision on field trips outside of Boys & Girls Club
  • Follow all CCFI policies, procedures and safety guidelines
  • Work as a team with other staff, and volunteers
  • Participate in processing and clean up after services
  • Perform other duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience
  • Additional education, youth development and leadership experience is strongly preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to initiate and maintain positive relationships with children, youth and guardians.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work as a team with staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to organizational change.
  • Must pass criminal history and other background checks
