Job Description

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is searching for a Full and Part time School Counselors. The primary job of the Assistance Program Counselor is to provide brief Solution Focused Therapy to all participating students at the school they are contracted with. Collaborating with other School Assistance Program Counselors while adhering to the agency and departmental program policies and procedures, to respond to agency needs in line with abilities, professional interest and changing community needs.

The ideal candidate for this role will have completed a master’s degree program from a CACREP University and/or will have completed all coursework in a master’s degree program and will be in their capstone of internship on target to complete their master’s degree program from a CACREP University and/or will have completed a bachelor’s degree program from a CACREP University.

Requirements

• Completed bachelor’s degree from CACREP University
• Completed master’s degree from CACREP University preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook, and general filing and administrative tasks.

Duties

• Complete all necessary paperwork including progress notes, report to social services, monthly statistical forms.
• Send out Introduction letter and the Opt out form to parents at the start of school year.
• Respond to crises and legal reporting as necessary.
• Collaborate with principal, teacher, and parents as needed.
• Must attend monthly Mental health Staff Meetings.
• Must attend School Assistance PROGRAM Counselor meetings three times yearly.
• Seek out extra training.
