JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Director of Accounting

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Yes

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Record and monitor daily, monthly, and annual transactions as required.
• Review general ledger transactions and ensure coding is accurate and all ending balances tie out to supporting documents.
• Addresses and corrects any discrepancies in accounts.
• Handle month-end closings, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and submit them in a timely manner.
• Review monthly actual data against prior periods and investigate discrepancies.
• Entering daily Journal Entries into accounting system
• Reconciliations of Bank and Credit Card Statements.
• Oversee all functions of Accounts Payable.
• Assist with other projects as needed.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or higher

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of (5) years of general ledger accounting.

QuickBooks experience a plus

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): The job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to job position including but not limited to:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
• Knowledge of QuickBooks or larger accounting software system required.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding business financials.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good recordkeeping.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Flexible and enjoys having multiple tasks ongoing simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
• High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
• Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends.
• Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
