Center for Family Health is Hiring a Pharmacy Director Near Jackson, MI

The Center for Family Health is a thriving federally qualified health center located in downtown Jackson, Michigan. Our mission is Opening the Door to Healthcare for all. We are committed to taking care of our talented and compassionate staff as they provide good quality care to our patients.

We are currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Director to join our team and lead our pharmacy services including ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, managing the pharmacy staff and programs, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.

Duties will include:

  • Provides organization, direction and staffing according to the needs and goals of the department and practice.
  • Interprets updated policies and procedures to staff with emphasis on compliance and accountability.
  • Ensures smooth daily operations and steady progress towards established goals through open and effective communication with all members of the staff.
  • Manages pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Under guidance from human resources, selects, promotes, disciplines, and terminates staff within the guidelines of the CFH policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes.
  • Oversees ambulatory pharmacy services which are part of the integrated care team.
  • Oversees the 340B program, including working collaboratively with senior leadership to manage contract pharmacies.
  • Performs, reviews, and reports the outcomes of third-party audits.
  • Responds to and handles patient complaints. Demonstrate sensitivity and empathy towards patients and their care.
  • Oversees medication inventory process and coordinates ordering and restocking.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintains a safe patient and work environment.
  • Maintains established performance and conduct standards in accordance with organizational expectations.
  • Collaborates with leadership team on organization wide processes and initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and administer pharmacy policies and procedures through participation of planning efforts and initiatives concerning pharmacy operations; work with senior management to develop operational strategies and methods.
  • Oversees quality assurance, quality improvement and utilization review activities in the pharmacy.
  • Fills in as staff pharmacist or other staff roles as needed.

Education/Training/Experience

  • Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school.
  • Hold a current license as a registered pharmacist in the State of Michigan.
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with current knowledge of pharmacy laws.
  • Background in 340B pharmacy management preferred.
