Burbank YMCA Horace Mann Children's Center- Early Education Teacher

Fulltime/$16-$20hr./Based on education & experience.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Preschool Teacher plans, organizes and delivers a high-quality play-based, developmentally appropriate preschool program, providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships, and build self-reliance through the Y’s values of caring, respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Working towards AA or a minimum of 12 units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development covering child growth and development, early childhood program/curriculum, Child, Family, and Community, and an additional course in early childhood principles and practices.
2. Willing to enroll in at least six units related to infants/toddlers is needed to work with toddlers.
3. Certification requirements include, within 90 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, Blood-borne Pathogens.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to communicate with parents, coworkers, children, and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner.
