Job Overview:

Best Western Plus Tacoma is seeking an experienced and dynamic Hotel General Manager to oversee all aspects of our hotel's operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing staff, maintaining financial performance, and upholding our commitment to quality and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the hotel, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, and guest services.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hospitality are maintained.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor and control expenses, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.

Staff Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a diverse team of hotel staff.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback to staff.

Guest Relations:

  • Ensure guests have a seamless and enjoyable experience from check-in to check-out.
  • Address guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Implement and monitor guest satisfaction programs and surveys.

Marketing and Sales:

  • Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies to attract and retain guests.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to maximize room occupancy and revenue.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, travel agencies, and other key stakeholders.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain health and safety standards, conducting regular audits and inspections.
  • Implement emergency procedures and conduct training for staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel management or a related role.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
